Through close contacts with leading manufacturers in the Far East and the U.S.A. Norkadis is able to source large quantities of quality products directly from the manufacturer to the reseller.
These are mostly the same manufacturers that produce products for so called A brands and are thus able to supply quality and compliancy to regulations like ROHS and CE.
"Obsolete" products ?
Imagine you bought some servers 2 years ago and you want to upgrade them. It's very likely that the options you need, are no longer available through normal distribution and you have to buy 'spare parts' which are exactly the same products, but at a price that's 2 times as high. At the same time, there are distributors that have the old parts in stock, but can't sell them because there's no demand anymore. Norkadis buys these products and sells them at a fraction of the cost of the 'spare part'. Everybody's happy : you pay less, the distributor gets rid of his old stock and we make some margin too.
That's sourcing obsolete products in a nutshell.
Think about this :
Products that don't get sold fast, take up warehouse space. And warehouse space costs a lot of money, because the distributor has to pay rent for it and he can't use the space for other products.
Distributors with a bit of common sense know that "slow moving stock" actually cost them money and try to get rid of this stock as fast as possible. They offer higher discounts if someone buys those products that are collecting dust for several moths.

Finding an Asian supplier is one thing. Finding a reliable supplier is another.
Everybody can do a search on the internet and buy products wherever they want. But are the products delivered in time ? Can they be hold by customs ? Are there hidden costs ?

Try to buy a product in China at a 'wholesale' price !
If you are lucky, you can buy your product with a minimum quantity of 1K pieces. You ask your quote and you receive a document with EXW, FOB, and other strange abbreviations on it. Basically, this means you have to find a company that will do the shipping for you. Sea shipment is the cheapest and you will have your products in 4-6 weeks. After a month, some products are defective and you should send them back. OK. Just count the hours you will spend on searching the product, arranging the shipment, arranging the returns (and the shipping costs for those returns)...
Did we mention you need to ask or fill in all kinds of documents and you have to pay all bills upfront ?
You got it : at first it looks appealing but after your first deal, you realize that you lost a lot of time that could be used for more important tasks like selling your products !
